LINDAU, Germany (May 15, 2017) – Crane ChemPharma & Energy, a Crane Co. business and leading provider of highly engineered fluid handling solutions, is pleased to present its WTA® Chlorine Valve at the 2017 Euro Chlor Conference & Exhibition, 16-18 May 2017 (Booth #42).

Providing the highest fugitive emission protection for use in chemical processing, WTA® Bellows Sealed Globe Valves are suitable for a range of applications, including Chlor-Alkali, Phosgene, and Fertilizer. The WTA® Chlorine Valve features a full safety sealing system enabled by multiple walled bellows, a sealed two-part rising stem, and a stellite-coated, conically shaped piston and seat. Its design features combine to meet the Euro-Chlor GEST specification and Chlorine Institute Pamphlet 6, which define demanding specifications for bellows sealed globe valves used in chlorine applications.

“As a certified supplier and member of Euro Chlor’s Technical Correspondents, we understand the challenges the industry faces and we strive to design products that provide solutions to those problems,” said Thomas Gietl, Global Business Line Manager, Crane ChemPharma & Energy. “The WTA® Bellows Sealed Globe Valve is an example of that, as it combines helpful user features with the latest technologies to offer maximum safety in demanding applications.”

The two-part rising stem on the WTA® Bellows Sealed Globe Valve isolates the rotational movement of the stem, shielding inner parts from torque effects. Its outside roll-formed thread resists damage from dirt and dust or rust and abrasion, and its stem coupling with bellows anti-torque device and clearly visible position indicator promotes safety by making it easy to determine the position status. Additionally, the WTA® valve features a stainless steel cam-profiled bonnet gasket that is coated with pure graphite and mounted on the tongue and groove bonnet flanges which works to provide superior sealing behavior in any situation.
