Al-Ahsa, SAUDI ARABIA (Sept 25, 2013) From the US, Germany and Dubai, representatives of Crane ChemPharma & Energy traveled to Saudi Arabia on September 10 & 11 to attend the Saudi Aramco Non-metallic Technical Exchange Forum 2013 at the Al-Ahsa Intercontinental Hotel. Organized by the South Ghawar Producing Department, the aim of the forum was to encourage the use of non-metallic materials to reduce the cost and improve the performance of materials in highly-corrosive applications. Among the products featured at Crane’s booth were Resistoflex®, Xomox® and Saunders® brand lined pipes and valves.

Visitors to the forum could also attend a presentation delivered by John Kalnins, Technical Service Manager for Resistoflex, entitled “Generational Advancements in Fluorpolymer Lined Piping Systems.” As PTFE-lined piping is being used in increasingly-severe service applications, permeation problems are magnified, reducing piping service life. Kalnin’s presentation revealed new efforts to optimize PTFE liner processing technologies

“The event offered an excellent opportunity to meet with Aramco end users from several fields and different technological perspectives while also providing valuable knowledge about other non-metallic technologies,” said Ismael Jammaini, Middle East Application Manager for Crane ChemPharma & Energy. “The event was very professionally organized by the Aramco team and facilitated the transparent exchange of details, concerns and requirements among professionals from all sides.”

More than 100 attendees from Saudi Aramco, owner of the world’s largest oil field and estimated by the Financial Times to be the world’s most valuable company, were present to learn about the lined product solutions offered by Crane’s trusted Resistoflex, Xomox and Saunders brands and interact with product samples at Crane’s booth.
