Istanbul, (Hall 2, Stand No. A270) February 25, 2010 – Providing a wide range of products in the Pump, Chemical Process and Pharmaceutical industries, CRANE ChemPharma Flow Solutions (DEPA®, ELRO®, REVO®, Saunders®, and Xomox® brands), a leading provider of highly engineered products for fluid handling applications worldwide, will be showcased at the World of Industry 2010, Automation ’10 Fair in Istanbul (February 25-29).
“At CRANE ChemPharma Flow Solutions, we pride ourselves on providing innovation that lead the way in the industries in which we operate,” said Tom Pozda, the President of CRANE ChemPharma Flow Solutions. “Hence, we are excited and honored to present an array of products from several of our trusted brands to the World of Industry (WIN) community this year, all of which provide revolutionary benefits in their respective areas.”
Saunders® Industrial Diaphragm Valve
Recently celebrating 75 years of innovation, CRANE ChemPharma Flow Solutions-Saunders® will be represented by one of the brand’s staple products, the Saunders Industrial Diaphragm Valve (IDV). As the innovator and leader in diaphragm valves, CRANE continually develops this technology and remains the only manufacturer to hold complete ownership of the research and development, design and production involved. Saunders Industrial Diaphragm Valves offer extended life, reliability, safety and ease of use, which facilitate low maintenance and minimal running costs. When subjected to both pressure and vacuum, Saunders diaphragm valves operate virtually leaktight.
All Saunders aseptic diaphragms are manufactured from FDA conforming materials to meet the requirements of CFR (Code of Federal Regulations, chapter 1, Title 21) and are tested and certified to USP Classes V and VI. Certificates of Conformity to FDA and USP are available upon request.
DEPA® E4 Compound Diaphragm
One of the company’s most recent innovations, the DEPA® E4 Compound Diaphragm, developed by Crane ChemPharma Flow Solutions, Düsseldorf, will be on display at WIN this year. Earning recognition in the air operated diaphragm pump industry as the “New Generation Diaphragm,” the DEPA E4 offers an increased life span, improved safety, increased efficiency, and an ultra clean working mechanism.
Featuring a special “noppedE4” surface and single-unit design from PTFE and EDPM, the DEPA E4 is durable, flexible, has a longer life span, is easily installed and maintains a lower replacement-need frequency, offering savings in both maintenance and operations, while decreasing downtime and improving efficiency. Its innovative design increases impermeability, thus facilitating greater safety and an ultra-clean working mechanism, which helps to prevent leaks/deposits and greatly limits areas for bacteria build-up.
The outer piston of this new diaphragm, usually a separate component in standard pumps, is entirely encapsulated and the high chemical resistance is maintained through the entire pH range (0-14) against most media. The DEPA® E4 is compliant with CE markings and is available in four sizes, ranging from ½” – 2”, the diaphragm combines versatility and functionality.
Xomox® XLD Series
Also on display will be the latest generation of Crane ChemPharma Flow Solutions – Xomox® fluoropolymer lined process butterfly valves, the Xomox®XLD series. This new series of valves features a one-piece valve disc design, combined with a resilient FKM body seal ring that work together to provide reliable and low maintenance operation.
The body liner of XLD valves encloses the lower end of the shaft and extends up the shaft bore to above the secondary seal (triple FKM O-ring), preventing a potential leak path, thereby rendering additional external seals unnecessary and creating a high integrity atmospheric seal. A final safety feature that prevents potential shaft blowout is the use of a proprietary device compliant with API 608.
Xomox® Lined Ball Valve XLB
Also highlighted will be the Crane ChemPharma Flow Solutions – Xomox® Lined Ball Valve XLB. Its patented design offers multiple advantages, including an innovative stem sealing system that provides safety and long term fugitive emission control under extreme conditions.
The new Xomox XLB provides a universal means to manage corrosive chemicals through a cost effective lined solution, avoiding the need for expensive high alloy alternatives. The lower torque of Xomox XLB lined ball valve designs permits use of smaller actuators, allowing cost reductions and creating space saving opportunities. Our innovative “pressure assisted” SX seal device provides protection from fugitive emissions. The Xomox XLB dynamic body joint design retains pressure boundary during thermal cycles.
The Xomox XLB body assembly has metal-to-metal connection that offers resistance against forces that may be created in the pipework. This feature is designed to alleviate deformation and damage to the lining, even under pressure induced stresses. Also, the body joint sealing is provided with taper lining overlap, which is especially effective under high internal pressure and temperature variations.
Xomox® 800 ISO High Performance Butterfly Valve
Also being showcased at the Crane ChemPharma Flow Solutions stand will be the new Xomox® 800 ISO High Performance Butterfly Valve (HPBV) which offers improved automation compatibility for Chemical Process, Oil, Gas and Energy industries. Developed by Crane ChemPharma Flow Solutions in Germany, the new product range features one-piece body construction and is available both in wafer- and lug-design.
Driven by a common user requirement to provide 60 mm space for insulation, the new HPBV Series 800 features a DIN-ISO-head, allowing for direct mount of automation equipment, eliminating the need for additional brackets, and the extended neck enables users to apply thicker insulation. In addition, the Xomox ISO800 product range allows for smaller actuators resulting in one of the lowest torques in the marketplace.
Additional benefits provided by the new HPBV design include reduced risk of leakage as a result of the closed bottom of the valve and the prevention of shaft blowout, which offers higher safety in corrosive media. Furthermore, a spherically shaped seat surface on the disc and the double-eccentric design of the bearing, enable a longer seat lifetime. On request, the HPBV is also available in double-flange versions. Both new and the existing designs are equipped with several key features including an axial-flexible seat ring lined with Teflon® brand PTFE, which enables bi-directional tightness, even in vacuum service situations.
Teflon® is a trademark of DuPont. Only DuPont makes Teflon®.
